My personal philosophy when I’m taking care of patients can be summarized with the four H’s: I want to help my patients feel whole, healthy, happy, and at home in their bodies. Plastic surgery is about reconstructing what has been lost through trauma or cancer, restoring the vitality of health and youth, and enhancing natural beauty. Whether a surgery is cosmetic or reconstructive, I want my patients to look in the mirror and feel happy, comfortable, and confident.

My strengths are my thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and my consistent drive to provide the highest caliber surgical results to the best of my ability. 

Choosing a plastic surgeon can be a deeply personal decision - you’re trusting that surgeon with your body, and oftentimes, in a way that will affect how you face the world. It is a field in which the personal bond between surgeon and patient is especially important. As Theodore Roosevelt said ‘people don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care’ - this quote was ingrained in me during my medical education, and I find it especially true in plastic surgery. I think it is vitally important to take the time to listen to patients, connect with them, and use that trust to guide them through their surgical journey. 

When choosing a plastic surgeon, I believe you should select someone with whom you feel most comfortable and whose training will yield your best results. Look for a surgeon with training specifically in plastic surgery, with whom you can connect, feel heard, and trust with your body. For women, choosing a female plastic surgeon like myself can offer an empathetic understanding of body image issues related to pregnancy, aging, and societal beauty standards. You might also feel more at ease discussing intimate procedure details. 

As a plastic surgeon, I am proud to offer my compassionate, understanding approach to all patients, male and female. Ultimately I believe that surgeon gender is the ‘icing on the cake’, and I’m happy to be both the cake and the icing on your surgical journey :) 

The best part of being a plastic surgeon is the broad diversity of people whom I can help - I’ve had the privilege of operating all over the body and on people of all ages, literally from head to toe and on patients as young as 2 days old to those in their 90s. As a reconstructive surgeon, I get to work alongside other surgical specialists as part of a patient's medical team, including general surgeons, breast surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and more, and experiencing that teamwork and camaraderie in patient care is heartening. Additionally, plastic surgery is both an art and a science - it allows me to appreciate daily the beauty of our human anatomy, while also requiring applied creativity to solve problems of both form and function. As someone who enjoys challenges, this diverse practice is rewarding and allows me the opportunity to utilize the full potential of my talents and training to help others.
